The Turkic American Alliance (TAA), the largest national Turkic organization in the US, held its fifth annual convention in Washington, which brought more than 200 businesspeople from 15 different countries together on Thursday. The convention was attended by around 100 congressmen and senators in the US. Businesspeople from Central Asia, Ethiopia, Ruanda and Nigeria met with senators and congressmen on commerce. Moreover, the businesspeople had chance to visit the White House as part of organization held by the TAA during the convention. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Richard E. Hoagland stated that he was surprised by huge participation to the convention this year different from the previous one. Attendants showed the majority of those who were welcomed at the Turkic American Alliance’s office on Thursday were international businessmen. TAA Staff was jubilant and excited to host the guests at the office, they exchanged gifts and took photos with one another. Among our distinguished guests were Members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Enver Erdem, Ilhan İşbilen and Aykan Erdemir; Members of the Mongolian Parliament, Khurelbataar Chimed and Sainkhuu Ganbaatar; Kiprono Kittony, National Chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Umar Mutallab, Chairman of Jaiz Bank of Nigeria; Dr. Roman Gotsiridze, former Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia; and Munaj Gursahani, Vice Chairman of U.S. India Investment Forum.
